The Garrett County Board of Education voted on January 12, 2021, to accept the Superintendent’s recommendation to remain in the “red model” in which students are learning virtually. Students will begin transitioning back to in-person learning when the Garrett County metrics are at 5% or less positivity rate and 15 or less per 100,000 for 14 consecutive days.

There have been 1,716 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Garrett County. Current metrics from the Garrett County Health Department are: 7-Day Positivity Percentage: 15.0%; 7-Day Case Rate Per 100,000: 50.7.

Immunization 7th Graders

All 7th grade parents, please bring proof that your student has been vaccinated for DTAP and Meningitis prior to or on the first day of school August 26, 2019. If your child has not been given these vaccines by this day, the nurse will need proof that your child has an appointment to get vaccinated before September 13, 2019. If you can not give proof of vaccination or appointment on the first day of school your student will not be able to attend school until you have an appointment to get vaccinated and the nurse is notified. After September 13 your student will not be able to attend school until the vaccines are given.
