BIG BUCKS BINGO........November 3 starting at 1pm at the Oakland Elks. Cost is $25, $30 at the door. Doors open at 11am. There will also be tips, auction/raffle and food. To purchase a ticket, see any senior or contact Maria Zumpano at 301-337-9447

Senior Class Clothing Orders:
Senior clothing paper orders are due August 31 to Ms. Zumpano. Please contact Ms. Zumpano with questions. Senior clothing order forms can be picked up from Ms. Zumpano in Room 1252. Seniors also received their order forms last week.

Senior Panoramic and Graduation Supply Meeting:
November 8 during Advisory period in the Gym, the class panoramic will be taken and Jostens will be here to distribute and discuss graduation supply ordering.
 
All seniors should bring the panoramic form and money on November if they are purchasing the class panoramic picture. Seniors can turn in panoramic orders and money to Ms. Zumpano also. Questions, see Ms. Zumpano.
 
 
Senior Class Trip:
The class of 2019 senior trip will be held on May ???. The trip will be to ???. Students interested in going on the trip should sign up with Ms. Zumpano.

Qualifications for attending the senior trip:
  • passing all classes
  • no obligations
  • acceptable attendance and behavior
  • completed service learning
  • fundraiser expectation met
  • on track for graduation
 
Important End of Year Dates:
Attendance Appeal Letters due May ??? to Mrs. Friend in the Attendance Office.
 
School Obligations due May ??? to Mrs. Cathell in the Main Office.

Awards Assembly--May ??? at 7 pm in the Cafeteria. Dress in nice clothes: no jeans, shorts, or sweats.
 
Practice--May ??, 9am in the SHS Gym (Mandatory for seniors walking in graduation)
 
Senior Picnic and Parade--After Graduation Practice Broadford Park Pavilion #5--Senior Picnic form must be turned in to Ms. Zumpano. If you need a ride to the picnic, see Ms. Zumpano.
 
 
Graduation Supplies
Any senior who missed the graduation supply meeting on November 8 should stop by Ms. Zumpano's room to pick up a packet. Orders should be made by the Christmas holiday.

Graduation Information
Garrett County Public Schools announces that both high schools will conduct graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2019 on Saturday, June 1, at the CARC (Community Aquatic and Recreational Center) on the campus of Garrett College.
 
Southern High School’s graduation ceremony will be held at 10am.
 
**Family and friends attending the 2018 graduation ceremony at the CARC should arrive early.
The CARC doors will be closed at 1:50 to prepare for the ceremony processional. Doors will then be opened once all seniors are seated for the ceremony.**

GRADUATION PICTURES--LifeTouch will be photograph the graduation ceremony. To access the pictures go https://events.lifetouch.com/
 
 
GRADUATION VIDEO--The graduation ceremony will be video recorded and copies will be available at a cost of $10. Payment should be made at the end of the ceremony at designated areas.
 

GRADUATION DRESS CODE FOR GRADUATES--Dress code form must be turned in to Ms. Zumpano. Need another dress form? Download the dress form here.
*Boys--Dark dress slacks, dark socks and dark dress/casual shoes (no athletic or running shoes, no flip flops, no work books), shirt and tie, red cap and gown. Dark can be dark black, dark blue or dark brown.
*Girls--Very light or white colored dress or skirt/top, white or nude colored dress/casual shoes. Sandals are allowed but they must secure behind the ankle, (no athletic or running shoes, no flip flops), white cap and gown.
 
*Nothing extra should be hung, pinned or attached in any way to either the cap or gown other than academic cords, medals and stoles received at senior awards.
 
ARRIVAL TIME--Seniors should arrive at the CARC by 8:30pm. Sign in with Guidance Counselors. Make sure you have followed dress code as outlined in your graduation handbook and discussed in the senior meeting in April. Dress code information is also listed above. Have your picture taken in your cap/gown.

Guidance Form and Final Transcript
Seniors--you need to turn in your senior four part memo you received at the Mandatory Senior Graduation meeting. All seniors must turn this form in!!!
 
Part of the form is for sending out final transcripts. If you don't turn this in, your transcript will not be sent.
 
Also, if you want your name in the guidance display case for the college you will be attending in the fall turn this paper in. If your sheet isn't received by the deadline date you will not included in these listings,
