NATIONAL WILD TURKEY FEDERATION ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP – JAN. 1, 2019 – The NWTF scholarship is administered by the National FFA Organization and requires that candidates support and be actively involved in wildlife conservation, the preservation of the nation’s hunting heritage or other activities that support the NWTF Save the Habitat. Applicants must also hold a current NWTF membership. MARYLAND FARM BUREAU SCHOLARSHIPS - DEADLINE IS FEB. 1, 2019. The Maryland Farm Bureau will offer five $2,000 scholarships. Applicants must be high school seniors starting college in the Fall of 2018 or be full-time students at any community college or four-year institution. Applicants or their parents/guardians must be members of the Maryland Farm Bureau. Three of the scholarships will be offered to agricultural curriculum majors and two scholarships will be offered to non-agricultural or agricultural curriculum majors. Applications requires a two-page essay on "Technology is one of the driving forces for innovation and advancement in agriculture. How can the industry attract the best and brightest minds from STEM into agricultural careers?” Application is available in the Guidance Office.
ELKS LEGACY AWARDS – DEADLINE IS FEB. 1, 2019. The Elks National Foundation offers the Legacy Scholarship worth $4,000 each to children and grandchildren of Elks Members. College-bound high school seniors who are the children or grandchildren of dues-paying Elks are welcome to apply. Applicants are judged on knowledge, charity, community service and integrity. DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION SCHOLARSHIPS– DEADLINE IS FEB. 15, 2019 – The Daughters of the American Revolution awards a variety of scholarships-- $2,000 awards up to 4 years, $5,000 – one time, $2,500 – one time, etc.. KIDS’ CHANCE SCHOLARSHIP – THERE IS NO DEADLINE – Kids’ Chance of Maryland, Inc. sponsors scholarships for children of catastrophically or fatally injured workers to complete their college, technical school, or post-graduate education. Scholarships are awarded on a semester basis and vary depending on the needs and educational expenses of the student.
