PBIS Initiatives

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (P.B.I.S) is an evidence based framework that promotes positive interactions amongst students and staff. Teaching and recognizing positive behaviors for all students is foundational to the P.B.I.S. process. The framework includes a systematic approach that supports a positive and predictable environment. To this end, our school has identified school-wide expectations which include: Respect, Active, Mature, and Safe...Go R.A.M.S. Students will see posters and banners designed by other students in the hallways and throughout the schools with our R.A.M.S. expectations.

The P.B.I.S. initiative focuses on increasing school attendance, grades, and behavior during the school year. Good attendance, passing grades, and appropriate behavior are directly correlated to student success and ultimately achieving the goal of graduation. Individual incentives may include snacks, raffles for gift cards, parking sports, ipads, movie tickets, and tickets to school events.
  • To be eligible for individual attendance incentives, students can miss no more than two absences from any class during the incentive interval.
  • To be eligible for the individual grade incentives, students must pass all classes.
  • To be eligible for individual behavior incentives, students must have no behavioral referrals.
Whole-group incentives for good attendance, passing grades, and appropriate behavior include the Ram Rumble (Q1), in school movies (Q2), and a spring event (Q3). To be eligible for the whole-group incentives, students must:
  • attend school with no more than four unlawful absences
  • be on time with no unexcused tardies to school (T60's) and no tardies to class
  • act appropriately with no behavior referrals
  • be academically successful and pass all classes.
