Southern High School recently held a luncheon to recognize First United Bank and Trust for sponsoring the “MD Stock Market Game Competition” for the past 23 years.  Principal Jim Maddy thanked the Bank for their commitment to financial literacy through the funding of the cost for participating in this program and presented Carissa Rodeheaver CEO and Chair of the Board, a framed Certificate of Appreciation.

The two participating teachers, Athena Wilson and Lisa Bender have been using the stock market game as a high-interest enriching activity in their accounting, economics and personal financial management classes during these 23 years.  They were each given a gift by Mrs. Rodeheaver to thank them for their excellent instruction in the area of financial literacy and for their long-term commitment.  The participating teachers also used the opportunity to thank the Bank and to present a gift to Rob Sharps for serving as the financial advisor for the Stock Market Game.
