Given the virtual environment for many higher education institutions, large group presentations are not able to be completed at this time. But have no fear – FINANCIAL AID IS ON IT! We are currently preparing a virtual financial aid presentation that you and your family can view at your convenience, and can even watch again if needed. Additional information will be forthcoming.
In collaboration with Frostburg State University, we will be hosting open Financial Aid Q&A sessions. Further information on dates/times will be shared soon!

The Maryland Office of Federal Student Aid (OFSA) will be hosting two-days of Virtual Financial Aid Bootcamps on October 20-21, 2020. Sessions will be provided both during the day and evenings. Learn about how to complete the 2021-2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and the federal financial aid process. Registration is required. Please check out the following scholarships. For more information on the scholarships including further eligibility requirements, please check out the link below each scholarship.
1) Points Scholarship - $10,000 - 10 Awards (Deadline: November 30, 2020)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be a high school student planning to attend college in September 2021.
B) Answer the Essay question on the sponsor’s website.
2) Dell Scholars Program - $20,000 - 300 Awards (Deadline: December 1, 2020)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Participate in a program-approved college readiness program in grades 11 and 12.
B) Be on track to graduate from an accredited high school in the current academic year.
C) This is a need based scholarship
3) Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships - $5,000 - 5 Awards (Deadline: December 5, 2020)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be enrolled in an accredited educational institution (kindergarten through graduate school) in the US.
B) Have demonstrated on-going commitment to their community by performing unpaid volunteer services.
4) Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards - $3,500 – 180 Awards (Deadline: December 6, 2020)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be currently enrolled in high school and graduating in the spring of 2021.
B) Have a minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale or 7.5 on a 10.0 scale.
C) Be Hispanic in heritage (includes Spain, Brazil and the Philippines)
5) Science Ambassador Scholarship - $40,000 - 1 Award (Deadline: December 14, 2020)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) You must be a high school senior or an undergraduate student.
B) You must attend a school in the United States.
6) North American Van Lines Logistics Scholarship - $1,000 - 3 Awards (Deadline: December 15, 2020)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be a U.S. Citizen (or permanent resident).
B) Be enrolled (or enrolling) as a full-time student of an accredited college/university within the United States for completion of an undergraduate degree in Logistics or equivalent field.
7) Edison Scholars Program - $40,000 - 30 Awards (Deadline: December 14, 2020)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Must be a high school senior with at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA, plan to pursue studies in the STEM fields at a four-year accredited college or university and show financial need. Eligible STEM majors include computer and information systems, engineering, engineering technology, management information systems, mathematics, natural resources and conservation and physical sciences.
8) Equitable Excellence Scholarship - $25,000 - 52 Awards (Deadline: December 15, 2020)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be United States citizens or legal residents living or claiming residency in one of the 50 United States, Washington, D.C. or Puerto Rico.
B) Be current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college.
9) You Deserve It Scholarship - $1,000 - 1 Award (Deadline: December 29, 2020)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be a resident of any of the 50 United States, District of Columbia or US Territories.
B) Be 16 years of age or older and be enrolled in college or registered in a high school.
10) Design Thinking Scholarship - $1,000 - 2 Awards (Deadline: December 31, 2020)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited two or four-year College or university located in the United States.
11) CC Bank’s Young Scholars Scholarship - $2,000 – 5 Awards (Deadline: December 31, 2020)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be a US resident under the age of 30 that carries a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
12) Ron Brown Scholarships Program - $40,000 - 10 Awards (Deadline: January 9, 2021)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, Black/African American and current high school seniors.
B) Demonstrate academic achievement, leadership ability & participate in community service activities.
13) Automotive Women's Association Scholarships - $2,500 – 15 Awards (Deadline: January 9, 2021)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be accepted to a college or university and have a minimum 3.0 GPA during your last school year.
14) Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship - $5,000 - 39 Awards (Deadline: Jan. 15, 2021)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be a high school senior who is a US citizen and planning a career of service to the US in local, state, or federal government.
15) Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarships - $10,000 – 3 Awards (Deadline: February 20, 2021)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
A) Be a senior in high school in the United States.
B) Have promoted vegetarianism in their schools and/or communities

The Maryland School Counseling Association Scholarship- $500- 2 Awards (Deadline: February 22, 2021)
To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:
Be a high school senior in Maryland
Write an essay in recognition of a school counselor (300-500 words) including specific examples of how the school counselor has helped the candidate in some significant way.
Priority will be given if the school counselor who is the subject of the candidate’s essay is a current member of MSCA.
