The Garrett County Board of Education voted on January 12, 2021, to accept the Superintendent’s recommendation to remain in the “red model” in which students are learning virtually. Students will begin transitioning back to in-person learning when the Garrett County metrics are at 5% or less positivity rate and 15 or less per 100,000 for 14 consecutive days.

There have been 1,737 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Garrett County. Current metrics from the Garrett County Health Department are: 7-Day Positivity Percentage: 14.5%; 7-Day Case Rate Per 100,000: 44.3.

Garrett College

Attention students who are scheduled to take a Garrett College course in the winter or spring semester(s): Garrett College will open registration for the winter and spring semester on November 9th. Students should work with the High School Dual Enrollment Advisor, Melissa Wass, to get registered as soon as possible. For students who have never taken a Garrett College course before, you can download an enrollment checklist here: An instructional video regarding how to register is available here: Garrett College will be hosting virtual help sessions on November 9th, 11th, 16th, 18th at 2:00 each day to assist any student who has questions or needs assistance with registering.
