Last Updated on Jan 21, 2015 at 11:30am | Secondary Education

Student leaders from Garrett and Allegany County gathered on January 15, 2015 at Frostburg State University to participate in a Maryland Leadership Workshops (MLW) regional leadership day sponsored by GCPS, ACPS, MLW, and FSU.  School cancellations forced the rescheduling of the event multiple times yet over 100 students gathered to participate in this event.  Students attended workshops on Group Dynamics, Motivation/Empowerment, and Communications/Presentation.  During the day-long event, students had the opportunity to discuss regional issues as well.
Special thanks to Ms. Kara Kennell (ACPS), Ms. Tammy Twigg (ACPS), Brenda Blackburn (ACPS), Ms. Y. Michelle Harman (GCPS) Ms. Anita Anderson (MLW) and MLW Staffers, and Mr. David Treber (FSU Events) for assisting in the planning, implementation and chaperoning for this event.  Thanks also to ACPS BOE and GCPS BOE for their support of this event.
