NHS Envirothon Sponsors Ice Fishing on Deep Creek

NHS Envirothon Team sponsored a fun-filled day of ice fishing on Saturday, February 8, 2014.  Students first went to Deep Creek Lake Discovery Center and took a brief tour.  Following their tour, they went onto Deep Creek Lake for ice fishing.  Students in attendance were:  Madi Gallagher, Emily Fratz, Brandon Raley, Blake Upole, Katie Carpenter, Kyle Klotz, Brett Oates, and Zach Voelkel accompanied by Environmental Science Teacher and Envirothon Coach, Ms. Rebecca Kenyon-Sisler Alan Klotz (MD DNR Western Region Fisheries Manager) was in attendance to drill holes in the ice and assist the students.  
Species caught included yellow perch, chain pickerel and walleye.
