USE OF CAMP HICKORY
Camp Hickory exists for the education of all youth and interested individuals in Garrett County, the State of Maryland, and the surrounding geographical areas. It is, however, first an integral part of the Garrett County School System and its developed curriculum for youth, grades PK-12. Its use and programming for grades PK-12 are the responsibility of the Superintendent of Schools of Garrett County and his/her designated personnel.
When Camp Hickory is not in use by the Garrett County School System, it can be used (1) by the Garrett Community College and (2) other interested educational organizations who receive permission for its use from the Public Schools of Garrett County. When this permission is granted, the requesting educational organization will be responsible for coordinating all activities and programs with the Coordinator of Camp Hickory to insure proper usage of the facility.
In the event of damage to property and/or losses sustained at Camp Hickory during its usage by the requesting organization, the organization will be financially responsible for the repair of damages and/or replacement of all losses incurred (see Policies 723.50 and 723.51).
