Bomb Threat Procedure
In the event that a telephone call, or notice to the effect that a bomb has been placed in a school, or any other building, the following procedures are to be implemented:
1. Complete Bomb Threat Checklist (857.225)
2. Contact 911 (Emergency Management Agency) to establish and coordinate a response effort.
The Emergency Management Agency will contact the police agency and alert other appropriate agencies/departments; e.g., Fire Marshall, Fire Department, etc.
3. Police personnel will assist in determining appropriate response; e.g., immediate evacuation, bomb search team, etc.
4. Contact Superintendent of Schools, Supervisor of Maintenance and Operations, or the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction.
