LATE OPENING OR CLOSING OF SCHOOLS DUE TO EMERGENCIES OR FOR SAFETY REASONS
Board Policy
The Superintendent of Schools may close or delay the opening of schools due to unusual weather, lack of heat, power failure, water problems, or other conditions when it will protect the health and safety of children. In making decisions relative to the specific emergency, consideration will be given to reports on road and weather conditions as well as input from the appropriate agencies such as, but not limited to, county and state roads departments, power companies, and water suppliers.
