DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS - SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS/CONTRACTORS

Administrative Procedure

Actions for various types of infractions shall be as follows:

Minor infractions and infractions not directly affecting the safety of property or students.

First Offense:  An official letter of warning.
Second Offense: One to five days' suspension from duty.
Third Offense: One month's suspension from duty.
Fourth Offense: Discharge.

Infractions affecting the safety of property and/or life, physical attack or abuse on a peer or superior, or minor moral offense, minor act of insubordination, or minor act of neglect of duty.

First Offense:  From an official letter of warning to not more than five days' suspension from duty with loss of wages within the contract breakdown.

 

Second Offense: From five days' suspension from duty with loss of wages within the contract breakdown.

 

Third Offense:  Discharge.

Major infractions involving immorality, insubordination, incompetency, or willful neglect of duty.

First Offense:  From thirty days' suspension from duty with loss of wages within the contract breakdown to discharge.

 

Second Offense: Discharge.

Actions taken by the Superintendent and/or his designees are subject to applicable provisions of the School Bus Contract. The period for counting offenses will be one calendar year; that is, if an offense is not repeated within one calendar year, the counting recommences. However, if a repeat offense takes place within two calendar years the degree of infraction will be upgraded to the next higher level; e.g. Minor infraction to Infractions affecting the safety....
