CRITERIA FOR EXTENDING USEFUL LIFE OF BUS

The following criteria are to be used in extending the useful life of a school bus beyond twelve years.

    1. No unrepaired property damage on the body or chassis.
    2. All badly deteriorated metal must be replaced or repaired.
    3. The recommendation of the Director of Transportation.
    4. The approval of the Superintendent of Schools of Garrett County.
    5. The approval of the State Superintendent of Schools.
    6. A bus may be replaced before twelve years with approval of the Director of Transportation.
    7. The contract on a twelve (12) year old route bus may not be transferred to a different contractor.
