FUEL CONSERVATION POLICY
Board
PolicyThe Garrett County Public Schools supports the position of the county superintendents and the State Department of Education in cooperation with and supporting the actions of all appropriate agencies relative to fuel conservation. We believe schools should be given a high priority for allocations as the responsible agencies develop necessary fuel allocations. The Board authorizes the superintendent to transfer as much night activity as possible to the hours immediately following the closing of day school. Only after this modification and other conservation measures have been exhausted will the Garrett County Public Schools consider changing the annual calendar to include closing schools on cold days and replacing them in warmer weather or Saturdays.
We support the action of the superintendent in initiating plans to conserve fuel and call upon all teaching, custodial, clerical, cafeteria, and administrative employees for their best efforts in implementing these plans.
