MODIFIED DUTY

Board Policy

The Garrett County Public Schools recognizes that, even with medical restrictions, its employees have much to contribute toward meeting the Board's responsibilities. It is therefore the policy of the Board to return all injured or ill employees to productive work as soon as possible, keeping the health and safety of the worker uppermost in importance. To this end, a modified duty assignment may be implemented when the employee's physician states that such is possible and appropriate duties can be identified.
