Board Policy

The Garrett County Public Schools will contribute to the cost of health insurance for qualified former employees in an amount up to $100 per month per retiree.

The post employment benefit plan became effective for the year 1996-97 with eligible retirees to include those who retired effective July 1, 1995 and thereafter. Effective July 1, 2003, this post employment benefit is discontinued except for employees retiring July 1, 2003 under the Voluntary Incentive Retirement Plan (VRIP). Those employees already retired under this plan shall continue to participate throughout their eligibility to receive this benefit.
