Board Policy

All non-certificated twelve-month employees will earn annual leave based on length of continuous service (one and two years employment, five days leave; three and four years employment, ten days leave; five years through nineteen years, fifteen days leave; twenty or more years of employment, twenty days leave). The maximum accrual will be forty (40) days.

To be eligible for annual leave, an employee must have completed one full year of continuous employment. Annual leave will normally be taken during the summer months. All leave must have prior approval of the Principal, Assistant Superintendent, Curriculum and Instruction, or the Superintendent.

Calculating annual leave for recordkeeping purposes will be done as follows:

    Up to and including six months continuous employment, one-half year credit (2 1/2 days annual leave)
    Seven months or more continuous employment, one year credit (5 days annual leave)

An employee on extended leave in a non-pay status will not be eligible for advanced annual leave until the employee returns to active service.

An employee in a non-pay status, four or more days within the month, will not earn annual leave for that month.
