DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS - SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PERSONNEL

Administrative Procedure

Actions for various types of infractions shall be as follows:

Minor infractions and infractions not affecting the safety of property or life.

First Offense: An official letter of warning.
Second Offense: One to five days' suspension from duty with loss of pay.
Third Offense: One month's suspension from duty with loss of pay.
Fourth Offense: Discharge.

 

Infractions affecting the safety of property and/or life, physical attack or abuse on a peer or superior, or minor moral offense, minor act of insubordination, or minor act of neglect of duty.

First Offense: From an official letter of warning to not more than five days' suspension from duty with loss of pay.
Second Offense: From five days' suspension from duty with loss of pay to discharge.
Third Offense: Discharge.
 

Major infractions involving immorality, misconduct in office, insubordination, incompetency, or willful neglect of duty.

          First Offense: From thirty days' suspension from duty with loss of pay to discharge.
          Second Offense: Discharge.

The period for counting offenses will be two years; that is, if an offense is not repeated within two years, the counting recommences. All suspension or discharge letters must be signed by the superintendent. Letters of warning are signed by the appropriate principal/supervisor.
