TEACHER VISITATION

Board Policy

The visitation of teachers by appropriately trained professionals is an integral part of assisting all teachers to strive for excellence or continued excellence in their classrooms. Teacher visitation focuses on the teaching process and its effects upon learners. Its operational questions are "WHAT IS BEING DONE?" and "HOW CAN ASSISTANCE BE GIVEN?" Through teacher visitation and the resulting communications come continued self-improvement through a unified effort which promotes quality education for all youth. The Garrett County Public Schools instructs the Superintendent of Schools and his/her designees to implement procedures which promote visitations of teachers by appropriately trained professionals to improve the teaching process in Garrett County classrooms.
