TRANSFER OF EDUCATIONAL RECORDS FOR STUDENTS IN
STATE-SUPERVISED CARE

 Board Policy

The Garrett County Public Schools will facilitate the prompt enrollment in school of children in State-supervised care by expediting the transfer of their educational records.  Enrolled children who are in State-supervised care will be provided with appropriate educational services, including the implementation of an existing Individualized Education Plan.    A dispute resolution process will be provided to handle any controversies over the record transfer process. The Garrett County Public Schools will annually certify that it is in compliance with the record transfer law, and will provide notice to principals, teachers, other school personnel, children in State-supervised care, responsible adults acting on behalf of those children and other interested parties.
