EVENING HIGH SCHOOL
Regular Original Credit
Courses in Evening School offered for original credit are scheduled for a minimum of 132 hours. The Board of Education approved curriculum is followed for all courses.
All instruction is provided by Certified Teachers. All courses with (4) four or more students must meet the full designated time. Classes with (3) three or less students may use a tutorial approach following the "Guidelines for Modified Instruction" of the EHS Handbook which requires a minimum of a full hour and a half (1.5) actual instructional time each week supplemented by contracted assignments to meet full content requirements.
REGISTRATION, GRADES, AND GRADUATION
Students will register on the Evening High School Registration Form with the EHS Teacher/Principal. A fee approved by the Public Schools will be charged and must be paid within (3) weeks of the beginning of the course in order to receive course credit. Individual graduation requirements will be verified by the appropriate high school guidance counselor. The regular grading, grade report, and graduation procedures will be followed and coordinated with the high school guidance office by the EHS Teacher/Principal.
The Attendance Policy for Evening High School follows the same guidelines as day school modified to meet the particular needs of the Evening High School schedule.
Code 08 is used for emergency request for immediate family illness (child or spouse) or work activity.
Code 13, 18, and 19 are not used.
Unlawful absences are limited to two (2) per class and total absences are limited to three (3) per class.
Detailed Evening High School operational procedures are outlined each year in the Evening High School Program of Studies Handbook which is provided to each EHS student and teacher.
