The Awarding of an Honorary High School Diploma to World War II, Korean Conflict, and Viet Nam Veterans
Board Policy
In compliance with Maryland State law under COMAR Article - Education Section 7-206.1, a high school diploma will be awarded to an individual who:
a. was a full-time student in an accredited public or private school in the state of Maryland;
b. withdrew from said school during her/his senior year to enlist in the armed forces of the United States during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Viet Nam War;
c. subsequently was honorably discharged from that military service; and
d. make application for a diploma through the Public Schools of Garrett County.
