GARRETT COUNTY Public Schools WELLNESS COUNCIL
Board Policy
The wellness of all staff members of the Garrett County Public Schools is a continuing concern. As a result, the Public Schools establishes the Garrett County Public Schools Wellness Council in order to develop among staff an awareness of those habits and practices which contribute to a healthy life style.
The Council will include one (1) representative from each of the groups which the Public Schools recognizes as representing the four employee organization. In addition, a member of the Public Schools, a nurse from each of the school levels, Executive Director of Instruction, Director of Human Resources, and a member of the Garrett County Memorial Hospital Wellness Program will also be asked to serve on the Council. In addition, an Ad Hoc representative from outside agencies will serve on the Council, as necessary. The Public Schools will support the efforts of the Council within the funding constraints of the annual budget.
At least three meetings will be held each year with the proviso that employees will be excused from their normal duties to attend Council meetings, if necessary. The Council is to report to the Board on its activities at the end of each school year.
