ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Administrative Procedure

The Hickory Environmental Education Center Advisory Committee will meet annually (more frequently as needed to address issues/curriculum) and will be chaired by the Coordinator of The Hickory Environmental Education Center. The committee will be composed as follows:

• Coordinator of the Hickory Environmental Education Center

• Executive Director of Instruction

• Director of Elementary Education

• Director of Secondary Education (9-12)

• Elementary Principal

• Secondary Principal

• Faculty Member from Garrett College

• Planetarium Teacher

• Primary Teacher (pre K-2)

• Intermediate Teacher (3-5)

• Middle School Science Teacher

• High School Science Teacher

• Three members of the community. One community member should represent elementary students, one should represent middle school students, and one should represent high school students.

• Public Schools Member - ex officio

• HEEC Classroom Assistant-Secretary

NOTE: Teacher surveys will be utilized to provide guidance for program implementation that extends school-based environmental experiences at all grade levels.
