COLLECTIVE BARGAINING

Administrative Procedure

     In order to ensure that the provisions of Public School Laws 6-401 through 6-411 and 6-501 through 6-514 regarding collective bargaining are met the Board recognizes the following organizations as the exclusive representatives for the listed employees.

Although the school nurses continue to be unrepresented, currently they are all licensed through the State of Maryland as registered nurses and by virtue of past. practice have received the benefits given to teachers.

Those non-certificated individuals who work less than thirty (30) hours per week are considered part time employees and not included in the definition of a public school employee for the purposes of 6-501 through 6-514.

**Effective August 1, 1996 the Garrett County Teachers, Association and the Garrett County Association of Educational Support Personnel merged to become the Garrett County Education Association
