Proposed School Calendars for 2020-21

Two proposed school calendars for 2020-21 were presented to the Garrett County Board of Education at its January 14th meeting. The calendars can be reviewed by visiting the school system’s website at:
 
 
The first proposed school calendar and the recommendation of the School Calendar Committee is for a pre-Labor Day start with Wednesday, August 26, 2020, as the first day of school for students.
 
The second proposed school calendar, for consideration by the Board, is a pre-Labor Day start for students on Monday, August 31, 2020.
 
Each calendar proposes that schools be closed on Thanksgiving Monday and one parent-teacher conference scheduled for the end of the first semester.
 
The Board is requesting the public to review the proposed calendars and submit any comments by noon on Friday, February 7, 2020, to the Public Information Office at public.info@garrettcountyschools.org or in writing to:
