The United Way of Garrett County and Garrett County Public Schools will again partner to hold its annual school supplies drive, Stuff the Bus, on August 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Walmart in Oakland, MD.
A school bus will be parked in Walmart’s parking lot and volunteers from both United Way and Garrett County Schools will be at the store all day to assist in the collection of supplies and/or monetary donations.
The Garrett County United Way event is part of a community wide effort to collect school supplies for students in Garrett County. Walmart has served as a partner for several years by allowing a bus to park at the store and collection boxes to be placed inside.
Everyone can help by purchasing new school supplies and dropping them off at Walmart throughout the day on August 17, 2018. Supplies will be delivered to the Garrett County School’s central office location for distribution throughout the school year in order to meet the needs of students.
