Last Updated on Nov 9, 2017 at 2:25pm | Public Information Office

Students and staff of the Garrett County Public School system recently celebrated the second annual Garrett County Pride Day. Held on Friday, November 3, 2017, the date of the annual matchup of high school football cross county rivals Northern and Southern, the event was created to show pride in living and working in Garrett County.

Ms. Barbara Baker, Superintendent, encouraged everyone to wear the schools’ team colors or the colors of another team or cause that they support.  Ms. Baker requested photographs of the team, school, and county spirit. Each person who submitted a photograph was entered into a random drawing. Four winners were chosen and congratulations go out to Dawna Ashby, Cindy Garlitz, Chuck Trautwein, and Karen DeVore.  Ms. Baker will make a $25.00 donation to charity in their honor.
