Schedule for Retention and Disposition of Student Files

The Garrett County Public Schools maintains student records as based on the administrative procedure, #474.212 - Schedule for Retention and Disposition of Student Files.  Student records of exited Infants and Toddlers files are maintained in the Infants and Toddlers office for a period of six years, at which time they are forwarded to the Department of Pupil Services.  In accordance with this procedure and Maryland Special Education laws, it is the intent of the Garrett County Public Schools to dispose of the confidential special education records of any child that has exited the Infants and Toddlers program during the 2010-2011 school year.

Please be sure to include your name, date of birth, social security number, and current contact information, including address and phone number. Picture identification will be requested as proof of identity. Records not claimed by January 13, 2017 will be disposed.
