Broad Ford School's Orff Ensemble Performs in Hagerstown

The Broad Ford Elementary School "Blazing Bobcats" Orff Ensemble recently traveled to Hagerstown to perform at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. The group was invited by the Maryland State Department of Education to perform at the MSDE Regional Fine Arts Briefing, held at the museum.

The 4th and 5th grade musicians rehearse every Wednesday after school with their music teachers, Laura Dahlen and Heather Roth. The group was founded in 2015 through donations from Samantha Funding the Arts, the family of Tim Hardesty, Landon's Library, and continued support from the Garrett County Board of Education. Although the ensemble has performed at several events in and around Oakland, this was their first performance outside of Garrett County.

The Orff Ensemble members are: Abbi Beeman, Reagan Bernard, Amelia Bolden, Isaac Browning, Annabelle Browning, Sadie Crowell, Jayden Culp, Katy Dawson, Kaitlyn DeWitt, Alex Durst, Liam Elmlinger, Noah Ferguson, Sara Fredlock, Piper French, Morgan Friend, Dylan Garlitz, Bryson Glotfelty, Laila Goldberg, Samuel Granke, Keira Haley, Brooklynn Hardesty, Annalyse Harvey, Evan Heath, Luke Helbig, Devin Hill, Shiyane Hinebaugh, Peyton Hoff, Eliana Hudnall, Brandon Huerta, Ellie Jameson, Raylee Joseph, Aiden Millar, Molly Nickel, Sophia Nunez, Kasey Reckart, Vava Recker, Sierra Robinette, Addie Rohrbaugh, David Rondeau Jackson Savage, Isabelle Savage, Bailey Schmidt, Breanna Slone, Masson Smearman, and Ryelynn Sweitzer.

The students performed three songs: “Simple Simon”, “Stars are Shining Bright Tonight”, “Two Three”.
