Medevac Helicopter, Trooper 5, Landing at both High Schools on May 20

Last Updated on May 18, 2015 at 8:54pm | Public Information Office

On Wednesday, May 20, 2015, the Emergency Service Clubs at both Northern and Southern High Schools will participate in a training session in conjunction with the Maryland State Police (MSP). The training session is estimated to run about 20-30 minutes at each high school.
Weather permitting, the MSP Medevac Helicopter, Trooper 5, will land at 9:50 AM, on the hump field behind Northern High School.  NHS Service Club Members will join local fire and EMS personnel for instruction and rescue training.
At about 1:10 PM, Trooper 5 will land on Southern’s practice field. SHS Service Club members will then have their opportunity to view and learn more about the emergency services.
School officials advise the public that the presence of the Medevac helicopter near the county’s high schools on May 20th is for instructional purposes, and does not indicate an emergency situation.
