The public is invited to attend a presentation entitled “Be a Hero!!” – Help Prevent Bullying in Garrett County Schools. The program will focus on what one can do to support students in an effort to keep all school environments safe and happy for everyone traveling in the hallways.

Who: Tyree Sterling, Motivational Speaker and Student Mentor
When: Monday, October 20, 2014, 6:00 PM
Where: Broad Ford Elementary School

Celebrating October’s designation as National Bullying Prevention Month, Garrett County Public Schools, in conjunction with Partners for Success, is sponsoring Tyree Sterling’s message that all students can be modern-day superheroes! Using comedy, music, dancing, and crowd interaction, he will address how to recognize bullying, understand the difference between tattling and reporting, and how to enlist responsible authority to curb and block the cycle of bullying in the world around them.

Mr. Sterling will share his message with Northern and Southern Middle School students during the school day, and he will provide more strategies with parents and the public at this evening event.

The program is funded by a special education grant through Garrett County Public Schools.
