Weather Related School Alert: All Garrett County Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, February 20, 2019, because of the predicted inclement weather that includes possible heavy snowfall and ice accumulation. Code Orange and liberal leave in effect for employees. Administrative offices will open at 10:00 AM. Should a change in code status for employees be necessary, the announcement will be made by 8:00 AM.

School Calendar 2014-15 Accepted by Board of Education

At the May 23rd Garrett County Board of Education meeting, the Board voted to accept the following concerning the 2014-15 school calendar:

•Monday, August 25: First day of school for students.

•Professional Development half days for each month with a 3-hour early student dismissal.

•Autumn Glory Friday, October 10, 2014: Schools will be closed.

•Parent-Teacher Conference Days: There will be no school for students but with adjusted times for both afternoon and evening conferences to allow for working parents.

•Thanksgiving Monday, December 1, 2014: Schools will open for students on the Monday after Thanksgiving.

•Winter Break: Beginning Tuesday, December 23, 2014 with a 3 hour early student dismissal and returning to school on Monday, January 5, 2015.

•Professional Day, January 16, 2015: This is the 91st day of school with a 3-hour early student dismissal. (If delayed or closed on this day, the makeup day will be the next full day.)

•Spring Break, March 30 - April 6, 2015. The Board voted to keep spring break and use 4 days as make-up days, if needed. Schools will be closed Good Friday and Easter Monday.

•One-Hour Delay Winter Schedule. There will not be a one-hour delay winter schedule.

•Tentative Last Day of School for Students: Thursday, June 4, 2015.
•Tentative Last Day of School for Teachers: Friday, June 5, 2015.
