Events Recognize State’s Top Schools
Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, State Superintendent of Schools Lillian M. Lowery, and members of the Maryland General Assembly will be honoring Blue Ribbon Schools this evening, March 10th, at the Governor Calvert House in Annapolis beginning at 5:30 PM.
Administrators, principals, and teachers representing Northern Garrett High School in Garrett County, Frost Elementary in Allegany County, Linthicum Elementary in Anne Arundel County, Western School of Technology in Baltimore County, Cashell Elementary in Montgomery County, and Robert Goddard French Immersion School in Prince George’s County will be present for the celebration
The evening of celebration will put a focus on six of Maryland’s top-performing schools.  All six of the schools have received both state and national Blue Ribbon honors.  The schools are recognized on the basis of rigorous State and national requirements for high achievement and significant improvement. The students in each of these schools are high achievers in reading and mathematics, and many of the schools serve a significant number of economically disadvantaged students.
The evening will include a reception, dinner, program, and honors on the floor of the House and Senate.
