The Garrett County Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting this evening, November 12, 2013. The meeting will be held at Northern Middle School Cafeteria.
The newest Board of Education member, Matthew Paugh will be sworn in by Tim Miller, Clerk for Garrett County Circuit Court. The Board of Education will meet in executive session from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The Board of Education will hold a work session from 5:00 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. Information items for work session include Administrative Procedure 532.23, Temporary Employee Contract; Board Policy and Administrative Procedure 730.0/730.1, Staff Travel; Board Policy and Administrative Procedure 760.0/760.1 Social Media; Board Policy and Administrative Procedure 348.7/348.71 Field Trip. Information items also include Facility Engineering Needs Assessment Master Plan, Potential Consolidation of Schools Design Review: Bushey Feight Morin Architects (BFM) Report, Service Learning, Budget Timeline, Legislative Session Topics, Advisory and School Consolidation Impact Committee Application, and Schoolnet.
Southern High School JROTC, Northern Middle School PBIS team, and Broad Ford Elementary MCCE Character Education Award will be recognized beginning at 5:05 pm. Also Dr. Janet Wilson will recognize Veteran’s Day and National Education Week.
The Board of Education will hold a business meeting at 7:30 p.m. Action items include Board Policy 130, Collective Bargaining, Board Policy 190, Equal Opportunity, and Board Policy 270, School Improvement Team.
Time is set aside during the work session and the business meeting for Hearing of Constituents at 6:45 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. respectively.
