Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) recently honored retirees from within the school system. This year, GCPS has 22 employees retiring from multiple aspects throughout the organization. All told, this group amassed a combined 610 years of experience.
All retirees, plus a guest, along with their supervisor(s), were invited to a celebratory dinner held at Dutch’s at Silver Tree Restaurant. Attendees were presented with a commemorative framed certificate and received a few small gifts of gratitude for their years of service.
On their retirement, Superintendent Barbara Baker said, “Our annual retirement celebration is always a festive evening. It was a pleasure to honor this year’s retirees, who have each dedicated many years to serving the students of Garrett County Schools. We wish them all only the best as they transition to the next phase of their lives. They will certainly be missed!”
GCPS would like to congratulate all retirees and thank them for their years of service. Best wishes for a long, healthy, and happy retirement go out to all.
