Fifth-grade students from Yough Glades Elementary participated in the annual Trout in the Classroom program. Ms. Pagenhardt's and Mrs. Macauley's students raised rainbow trout from eggs and cared for them until they were ready for release. The students released their trout into the Little Yough River and completed a stream study.

The Trout in the Classroom program promotes learning about healthy river habitats. In addition, volunteers from Trout Unlimited (Ed Spurr, Dave Blythe, and Bryson Meyers) joined the students to teach them how to fly fish and spin fish. Representatives from the Maryland DNR were also there to assist with the release.
