GCPS Reopening and Recovery Plan
The GCPS Reopening and Recovery Plan emphasizes how the school system will ensure continuity of services, including but not limited to services to address students' academic needs and students' and staff's social, emotional, mental health, and other needs. The plan also incorporates how the school system will maintain the health and safety of students, educators, and school system staff.

𝐌𝐒𝐃𝐄 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐃 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬
The graduation rate for the class of 2023 was released by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), including data on the four-year cohort graduation rate for students who graduated from Maryland public schools. The data revealed that graduation rates have dropped in most districts across the state, including Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS).

The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) will hold its annual Defensive Tactics training at Northern Garrett High School (NGHS) on March 28, 29, and April 1, 2024. Student learning will not be disrupted on Thursday, March 28th.

𝐔𝐩𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞-𝐔𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬
GCPS will dismiss students three (3) hours early on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, for staff development in the afternoon. In addition, all schools and administrative offices will be closed for spring break on Friday, March 29, 2024, and Monday, April 1, 2024. Thursday March 28, 2024, and Tuesday, April 2, 2024 are make-up days.
