Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) is committed to returning all students back to in-person learning this fall. Based on data collected over the last month from families, GCPS does not intend to provide a virtual option this fall. Furthermore, please note the following additional information:
- GCPS will provide full in-person instruction 5 days a week in accordance with the school system calendar and;
- Will Implement normal school operating hours and;
- Will provide full access to campuses and facilities.
GCPS will continue to collaborate with the Garrett County Health Department to ensure the safety of students and staff. We will follow all health and safety protocols that are in place at the time of the return in the fall and throughout the school year. It is our hope, however, that there will be minimal requirements for face coverings and physical distancing.
GCPS will be working with various stakeholder groups in the coming weeks to formulate a formal reopening plan in accordance with MSDE guidance. This plan will be posted for public feedback before it is finalized.
