Return to Learn Check-In with the Swan Meadow Community

The Garrett County Board of Education will hold an informal Return to Learn Check-In with the Swan Meadow Community on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. The meeting will be held at the Pleasant Valley Community Center, 975 Joni Miller Road, Oakland, Maryland, and will begin at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be open to the general public but will not be livestreamed.
 
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the Return to Learn plan for Swan Meadow School for school year 2021-2022. This meeting will be informal in nature and the participants of the meeting will be encouraged to share concerns directly with the Board. As with all meetings, topics specifically excluded from public discussion include:
 
  • Individual personnel issues
  • Comments identifying individual students or staff members
  • Matters that are on appeal or may be appealed
  • Topics for which the Board schedules formal public hearings
  • Advertising or solicitation for products and/or services
 
The following guidance applies to all methods of public comment:
 
We ask that comments be limited to a maximum time of 3 minutes per individual unless otherwise considered by the Board President. There will be no discussion or action taken at this meeting, but may be considered at a future meeting. Issues that are specific to individual employees should be referred to the immediate supervisors for appropriate consideration and review. Rude, slanderous, or threatening remarks or other behavior that is disruptive or interferes with the order of the meeting is not permitted.
 
We will follow all mandates by the Governor and the Garrett County Health Department that are in place at the date of the meeting with regard to distancing and face coverings. Masks will be provided for anyone who needs a mask.
