The Garrett County Board of Education is in the process of developing a strategic plan for the school system. A significant portion of this plan is the identification of the major strategic issues that the school system is currently facing and will face in the future. The Board of Education is seeking feedback on the preliminary report of strategic issues from community members, including parents, staff, students and Garrett County residents.
It was the intention of the Superintendent to have the report available for public review immediately following the Board meeting on April 10, 2018. However, the report contains a significant amount of data that must be converted to a web accessible format for those individuals with vision impairments. In an effort to post the report in a timely fashion, the following statement will be issued with the report:
GCPS is committed to providing content that is accessible to all. Those having trouble accessing the content in this document should dial 301-334-8900 for assistance, as we work to convert this document to be fully web accessible.
The RISE Strategic Plan Issues Report is now available for the public to review and provide feedback. The report can be accessed at https://www.garrettcountyschools.org/resources/public-information/pdf/Strategic-Issues-Follow-Up-Report-4.10.18.pdf. Community input into the strategic planning process is the main priority for the Superintendent and the elected Board of Education. Feedback regarding the strategic issues will be accepted until May 1, 2018, and can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to:
