Two Southern Garrett High School students were chosen as the RAM (Random Acts of Maturity) Students of the Month for second term.
November's RAM student, freshman Terry Tasker, was nominated by his JROTC instructor Verle Wright for displaying citizenship through a number of projects that JROTC conducted in the community. "Terry volunteered to go to Southern Middle School and teach the 7th grade classes how to respect, care for and fold the U.S. Flag," Wright said. "He also was instrumental in making our Veterans Recognition ceremony a success, and showed support for Veterans by volunteering to march in the Oakland Veterans Day Parade on very cold Saturday morning."
The December RAM, senior Nicholas Glotfelty, was also nominated by Wright for displaying caring and giving. "Nick wanted to help the Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive and is bringing in a box for JROTC students to donate gifts for the drive. He is collecting the gifts and will deliver them to Toys for Tots," Wright said.
The RAM students were awarded $20 gift cards to Uno’s Restaurant and Grill, the sponsor of the RAM Student of the Month program.
