GaCo 1629 to Participate in GLAF Chautauqua

Garrett County Southern Garrett High School Senior, Patrick Lee, will be portraying Nikola Tesla as part of his robotics team’s participation in the GLAF Chautauqua July 5th through the 7th.

Patrick will be performing as Tesla as the opening presentation for the Thursday night Chautauqua starting 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium of Garrett College. Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and futurist who is best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system. In partnership with George Westinghouse, he built the first hydroelectric power plant in 1895 in Niagara Falls and as a result of his work inventing radio controlled devices, he is attributed to be “the father of robotics.”

GaCo will be selling their old-fashioned, homemade lemonade all three nights of the GLAF event as a fundraiser for the team. For more about this year’s Chautauquas can be found at
