The Northern High School Concert Band and Concert Chorus will participate in the Worldstrides Onstage International Music Festival in Washington, D.C. as a part of the 2017 Presidential Inauguration Celebration. This honor comes as a result of their successful performances last January in Orlando, Florida.

The Concert Band and Concert Chorus will travel to Washington on Thursday, January 19.

On Friday, January 20, the students will be present to witness history in the making as the 45th President of the United States takes the Oath of Office. Throughout the day they will be participating in various inaugural activities.

On Saturday, January 21, the band and chorus will perform in competition in the morning and afternoon. This performance competition will include 18 schools representing 12 states. The students will also be touring various venues in Washington such as the National Archives, different portions of the Smithsonian Institute, and the various monuments and memorials on "The Mall".  Saturday will be culminated with a celebration for the performers in an awards ceremony that includes a dinner and dance for the students and their chaperones.

On Sunday, January 22, the students will finish sightseeing opportunities and then head back to Northern High School.
