Northern High School Places 5th in State Envirothon!

The "Northern Lights 1" placed 5th in this year's Maryland State Envirothon.  The competition was held at Mount Saint Mary's on June 22 and 23, 2016.  With a total of 417.50 points, Northern was narrowly defeated by the top contenders.  Teams are recognized for placing in the top three positions, overall, and for the individual station top place.  Northern Garrett's team received a score of 96 in the Wildlife category which was the highest total points in any category!

                                      1st -  Carroll
                                      2nd -  Harford 
                                      3rd -  Montgomery

                                      Aquatics - Carroll
                                      Forestry - Carroll
                                      Wildlife - Garrett
                                      Soils - Anne Arundel
                                      5th Issue - Carroll
The team is coached by Mrs. Rebecca Kenyon-Sisler who is an instructor at Northern Garrett High School.  In addition to Mrs. Kenyon-Sisler's advisement, the team receives assistance from a variety of county and regional agencies as they prepare all year for the county and state competitions, along with other area teams.  The team and Mrs. Kenyon-Sisler would like to thank everyone for their support and assistance in preparing this year's team.
