Northern Middle School Performed Well at the Maryland History Day Competition

Ten students represented Northern Middle School at the Maryland History Day Competition on Saturday, May 7, 2016.
 
Lauren Jacobs was awarded the Dr. Dean Mesologites Award for Medicine and Society, sponsored by the Honorable Stephen J. and Dr. Elizabeth Sfekas, for her website entitled “The Discovery of DNA: An Exploration in the Field of Genetics.” 
 
Colten Jenkins and Anthony Paul were awarded the Special Prize in Labor History, sponsored by the Community College of Baltimore County’s Labor Studies Program, for their group exhibit entitled “Henry Ford and the Assembly Line.”
 
Amanda Wilburn, eighth grade social studies teacher at Northern Middle School, was awarded the Maryland History Day Teacher’s Award for Garrett County.
