The Foster D. Bittle Chapter of the National Honor Society sponsored its annual school-wide canned food drive which benefited the House of Hope. Over 600 non-perishable items were donated this year. A special thanks goes out to Mr. Matt Pyle's 1st period class which donated over 150 cans and won a donut breakfast. Ms. Maria Zumpano's yearbook class and JROTC were were also generous givers. "Ms. Sue Newton's students worked very hard on life skills, sorting and boxing all of the donations into different food groups for the pantry," National Honor Society Advisor Heather Savage said. "The JROTC students volunteered to help us load and unload the trucks. The drive would not have been as successful without the help of both of these groups."
The National Honor Society has conducted the canned food drive for the House of Hope since 1998.
