Northern Middle School After School Programs
Northern Middle School has the availability of an academic intervention program after school from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  This program can be initiated by a student, teacher, administrator or parent.  Please contact your child’s teacher or the school counselor if you think s/he will benefit from this program.  Students are required to sign up in the guidance office on days that they plan to stay for intervention.
After school detention will be held at the same times as the academic intervention program and will be initiated by the school administration.  Parents will be notified by the school administration when a student is assigned to stay for after school detention.
The format for each session will be based on student need and may include time for homework.  Included in this brochure is a permission form to participate in this program.  Please have your child return the signed permission form to the main office.
It is the responsibility of the student to sign the ASP Notebook in the school guidance office each morning that s/he plans to stay after school.
Parents are extremely important to this program.  Daily follow-up with your child is essential.  Your child must do his/her part by bringing all books, materials and planners with completed assignments each evening.  Together we can make a difference.
