Maryland begins full implementation of the new Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) state assessments in reading and mathematics this school year (2014-15). The new assessments replace the Maryland School Assessments in English and mathematics in grades 3-8, and replace the High School Assessments in Algebra I and English 10.
MSDE is launching an intensive, month-long campaign to help parents #PrepareForPARCC. Beginning February 2, new PARCC resources and information will be released daily via MSDE’s Facebook and Twitter feeds, and on MSDE’s new Prepare for PARCC webpage – just go to www.marylandpublicschools.org and click on the Prepare for PARCC icon to access our best resources for parents, including a new video message from Dr. Lowery, Maryland Schools Gear Up for PARCC Assessments.
PARCC Assessment Resources can also be found on the Garrett County Public Schools website.
